The “wear,” “wore,” “worn” series paints different parts of my body directly on to a shirt toile. The shirt’s measurements and pattern are draped and made to fit my exact size. Embroidery pierces different portions of the shirt taking the notion of clothing as skin to the extreme. My body and image progresses from being worn to unworn and constructed to deconstructed. The work captures these moments of transformation as snapshots; it is impossible for this piece to exist in all three forms at once.
